What time does the tour start?
The start time varies depending on the tour you have booked. The Full Day Gourmet Wine Tour (Wed, Thur, Fri) starts with pick up at 9.30am with arrival to the first vineyard at approx. 10am.
The Half Day tour on a Tuesday and Saturday starts at 10am with arrival to the first vineyard at approx 10.30am. This is subject to change slightly over the season.
Where do Cornish Wine Tours depart from/drop off?
We collect you from the ‘Link Road’ Carpark located next to Padstow Fire Station. It is a short walk up the hill from the harbour. Can you collect me from somewhere else other than Padstow?
If you are close to Padstow or on the way to the first stop then we will be able to get you on the way. However because of the locations of each vineyard we have to be mindful not to spend too much time on the road and won’t be able to collect everyone from different locations. Please let us know if you aren’t staying in Padstow and might need collecting elsewhere and we can let you know if we can accommodate this.
How long does the tour last?
The Full Day Tour runs from 9.30am collection to a drop off time approx. 5pm. This may seem like a long day, but in reality it will fly by after we have visited 3 vineyards and had lunch, and of course, we don’t want to rush you! A Half Day Tour is approx. 4 hours long, with 2 vineyards.
What if I’m late and miss the pick up time?
Your booking confirmation will give you all the info you need to ensure you know exactly where to go. In order to get to our first destination in good time we need to leave promptly and will not be able to wait for passengers who are running late. However, if you are running late then ring us as soon as possible and we will do our best to get you on the tour. We are not able to offer a refund if you miss your departure time or fail to turn up.
Do you offer overnight accommodation as part of your tour?
No, we are a day tour provider only. We will be happy to recommend local hotel’s, B&B’s or Guest Houses if you require.
How many people can go on your tours?
We can take up to 13 passengers on any tour, and we run with a minimum number of 4 passengers. Don’t worry if you are just a 1 or a 2, you will be with other like-minded people and who knows – you may even make some new friends!
Can we bring our children?
If you book a private tour and have the minibus to yourselves then it can be possible, but as standard we are unable to take children on the tour as that will mean that less adults over 18 (who will be able to fully participate in the day) will be able to attend.
Can we bring our dogs?
Unfortunately we cannot accept dogs on the tour due to the nature of the locations we visit (except for assistance dogs).
However we can recommend our friends at Padstow Pet Care who offer a fabulous day care service for your furry friends while on holiday. They could be dropped off at 9am and collected at 5pm, leaving you free to relax on the wine tour, safe in the knowledge that they are being cared for. Can Private Group bookings be customised with other experiences?
Absolutely! If you feel like there is a particular place you would like to go then just let us know in advance. We may need to adjust the price accordingly but we can arrange anything within reason on our private/bespoke tours.
Can your ‘standard day’ tours be customised?
Because we want to give you the best experience possible we tend to follow a similar route and itinerary to lessen the time spent on the road, which means that it doesn’t make sense to divert from it. Cornish roads can be busy and so we will have arranged with the vineyards what time we will be with them.
What shall I wear?
We ask that you dress for the weather on the day. Bear in mind that parts of the tour can be outside and on damp terrain. We don’t think you’ll require wellies or oilskins (hopefully not!) but perhaps leave the heels at home! Be comfortable and bring an extra layer if you think you’ll need it. We will have blankets and umbrella’s on the minibus should we need them.
What if it’s raining?
See above! As with anything we can never guarantee the sunshine but that doesn’t mean that the tour will be a wash out. We will never cancel a tour due to weather we will just adjust so that we are inside for as much as possible.
I have a food allergy, can I still eat on your tour?
Yes, just let us know in advance and we will make sure the chef is aware.
Bookings and Cancellations
What confirmation will I receive for proof of my booking?
You will receive a confirmation from our website and a receipt from our payment provider (Stripe). You will need to bring your booking confirmation to board the minibus in a print-out form, or be able to show it on your mobile.
Can I receive a refund if I cancel my booking in advance?
We do not offer refunds for cancellations but you are more than welcome to reassign your booking to a friend. Just let us know.
